Refund Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
This Refund Policy is written in English, which is the authoritative version. Any translation (including the Polish section below) is provided for convenience only; the English version prevails in case of any discrepancy.
You should never have to buy SqlSage to find out whether it works for you. There is a permanently free tier, and every install starts with a full 30-day Pro trial that needs no card. On top of that, the money-back terms below apply to purchases.
Contents
1Who sells and who refunds
SqlSage for DBeaver is published by LUMA sp. z o.o., but it is sold to you by Paddle acting as Merchant of Record. That means Paddle — not us — is the seller of record for your transaction: it takes the payment, adds and remits the applicable VAT or sales tax, issues your invoice, and is the party that actually returns money to your payment method. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's own checkout terms.
We authorise and coordinate refunds that qualify under this policy; the funds are then issued by Paddle back to the original payment method. Because Paddle holds the billing record, it may also be able to help you directly through the receipt it emailed you.
2Free tier & trial — no charge to refund
The Free tier costs nothing and requires no payment details, so no refund can arise from it. The 30-day Pro trial likewise takes no card and creates no subscription: it simply ends, and the plugin continues on the Free tier. If you were charged for something you believe you never bought, contact us — that is a billing error, not a refund request, and we will treat it as such.
Licences we grant free of charge on request (for example to students or open-source maintainers) are not purchases and nothing is refundable in respect of them.
3One-time ("lifetime") purchases
A one-time Pro purchase is covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee. If the product does not meet your needs, ask for a refund within 14 days of the date of purchase and we will refund that purchase in full. After the window, one-time purchases are generally non-refundable, except where the law requires it or where we agree at our discretion — for example if a defect prevents you from using the product and we cannot fix it.
Why 14 days is the right number here, plainly: the 30-day Pro trial needs no card, so the product can be evaluated in full before any money changes hands — the money-back window covers the case where something only shows up after you buy, not the initial evaluation. It also matches the statutory withdrawal period an EU consumer would have anyway (section 8), so you are never worse off than the law provides.
Remember what a one-time purchase covers: the current major version plus one year of updates. It is not a promise of every future major version, and dissatisfaction with a later paid upgrade is not a ground to refund the original purchase.
4Subscriptions
You can cancel a monthly or annual subscription at any time, through the customer portal or receipt link Paddle provided, or by asking us. When you cancel:
- Your licence stays valid until the end of the period you have already paid for; it simply does not renew.
- We do not automatically refund the unused part of the current period, except where the law requires it.
- A first subscription payment is covered by the same 14-day money-back guarantee as a one-time purchase.
Renewal charges are generally non-refundable once taken, so please cancel before your renewal date if you do not want to continue. If a renewal was taken in error, or you were not adequately reminded of it, contact us and we will review it fairly.
5How to request a refund
Email support@lumasoft.pl with your Paddle order or transaction number, or the email address you used at checkout. You do not need to explain yourself within the money-back window, though telling us what did not work helps us fix it. You can also raise the request directly through the receipt or customer portal provided by Paddle.
Approved refunds are returned by Paddle to your original payment method, typically within a few business days, though your bank or card issuer determines when it appears on your statement.
6What happens to your licence key
When a purchase is refunded or charged back, we mark the corresponding licence revoked in our records and your right to use the paid features ends. Please stop using the Pro features and remove the key from Window → Preferences → SqlSage; the plugin continues to work on the Free tier.
To be straightforward about a technical limitation: because licence keys are verified offline on your own machine and the plugin does not contact our licence server, a revoked key may keep unlocking Pro features on a machine where it was already entered. Continuing to use it after a refund is a breach of the Terms of Service, not a loophole, and we may decline future purchases or refunds where we see that pattern.
7Exceptions
We may decline a refund where there is evidence of abuse of this policy — for example repeated purchase-and-refund cycles, reselling or sharing keys beyond the seats purchased, or circumventing the licensing or safety mechanisms. We may also decline where the problem is plainly outside the product: SqlSage requires DBeaver 26.x and a working Claude or Codex sign-in of your own, and those requirements are stated before purchase on the install page and in the documentation. None of this affects your non-waivable statutory rights.
8EU consumer withdrawal rights
If you are a consumer in the European Union you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for a digital purchase. For downloadable digital content that right can be lost once supply has begun, where you expressly requested immediate supply and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right — an acknowledgement normally captured at checkout by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Where the right does apply, you exercise it against Paddle as the seller, and we will help route your request.
The voluntary money-back guarantee above is offered in addition to your statutory rights and does not limit them. Your rights concerning the conformity of digital content are unaffected. See also our Terms of Service.

// The following is a Polish translation provided for convenience. The English version above is the legally binding text.
Kto sprzedaje i kto zwraca. SqlSage sprzedaje Paddle jako Merchant of Record (sprzedawca formalny): pobiera płatność, dolicza i odprowadza VAT, wystawia fakturę i realizuje zwrot na pierwotną metodę płatności. Obowiązuje także regulamin checkoutu Paddle. My autoryzujemy i koordynujemy zwroty objęte tą polityką.
Zakup jednorazowy („lifetime”).
